At a young age, Les was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor and the removal of it left him with hemiplegia, limited function of the left side of his body. This condition did not prevent Les from learning to do many day to day . . .
Les has always been involvent with this community taking an active roll in volunteering for many organizations. He is a member of the Victoria Chinese Commerce Association, volunteers at the Disability Resource Centre . . .
Les' love of Cooking has provided another outlet for his creative juices. He authored a Cook Book "Don't Stir Fry in the Nude" which was a sellout. He has also been the subject of many local Victoria food magazines.
As the unofficial Chinatown Ambassador, Les has conducted numerous historic tours of Canada's Oldest Chinatown. He blends his humor with interesting facts about the buildings and other historic features.
